My name is Christopher
J.
Claytor and I am running for the office of United States
Representative to Congress for the 3rd
District of Texas in
2008.
I am a running as
a member of the Libertarian Party.
Who / What is the Libertarian Party?
The Libertarian Party
was formed in 1971 by a group of voters no longer satisfied with the
leadership presented by the Republicans and Democrats. I joined
the party in late 1998 after also coming to the realization that
neither the Republicans nor Democrats could adequately represent me in
office.
As a Libertarian...
I stand for
fiscal
responsibility and smaller
government. Not the ever increasing
deficit spending government of the current leaders in office.
I promote individual responsibility over asking our "big brother" to
take
care of us.
I am
socially
tolerant, desiring that every American should be able to live their
life the way they want,
(as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the
same).
I promise to
fight to ensure you enjoy the
stated freedoms in the Constitution
of the United States and the Bill
of Rights, just as I did when I swore an oath to support and defend
the
Constitution on the parade field at the United States
Military Academy at West Point.
Speaking of my
time at West Point... I graduated in 1991, and soon found
myself deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Southern
Watch. Having spent time in "SWA," I bring a unique
perspective to the "Iraq War." My "anti-war" position has
been formed through my 10 years (plus 4 at West Point) of military
experience, coupled with my knowledge of and strong desire to defend
the foundation of our society.... the Constitution of the United
States!
A quick and
easy way to see if YOU might also be a Libertarian (or "little l"
libertarian), is
to take the "Worlds
Smallest Political Quiz." This incredibly short quiz
will tell you if your thinking is Liberal, Conservative, Libertarian or
"Statist" (favors Big Government -- "big brother"), or
Centrist. Yes,
that's a 5 point scale...
vs. the two point scale (Left / Right... Democrat / Republican)!
Most American's
are "Centrists." I always test out 100% Libertarian!.
Please take the
time to consider all of the candidates and their stance on the issues
carefully before
deciding who to vote for.
I hope that
after careful deliberation you will decide that a vote for Claytor
will
send a message to Washington
that you are tired of the way things have been going and want a change!
Thank you.
